Waking Up Earlier is A Good Habit
There are so many benefits to waking up early every day.
Waking up earlier will give you that extra time to do something productive. This sets your day up for success. If you decide to do your workout routine first thing in the morning, before the rest of the world is up, you will feel great all day. But mostly you’ll feel like you’ve accomplished something.
If you have a good routine to start your day, you’ll tend to be more productive all day and be more focused.
Another reason to get up earlier is that you won’t be rushing to get to your job or gobble down your breakfast while driving, or getting the kids fed and out the door in 10 minutes. Everything will run much smoother.
If you get up early you’ll also be able to get to sleep earlier. You’ll be more productive throughout the day and be tired earlier. This creates a good sleep cycle.
If you decided to start getting up earlier to make it one of your new good habits this year, stay true to your commitment. Set your alarm the night before for 6:30 if that’s when you want to get up. Then because it’s a promise you made to yourself, get up when the alarm goes off. Don’t start your day with a broken promise. Wake up and start exercising!
Take Time Every Day to Reflect
One of the good habits you may like to start this year is to reflect on your day, every day. You may be wondering why you’d want to do this.
Reflecting on your day helps you go over everything you accomplished or failed to accomplish. You plan out your day and check off the goals you’ve reached, whether it’s at work or home. You always have a focus and goals to reach each day.
And planning is good. It helps you get things done step by step. When reflecting on your day or your recent past, you can start to use what you’ve learned to help you achieve your goals.
There’s so much to learn from how you did certain things and how you might want to improve on them. Maybe you didn’t react in a way you thought you should’ve to someone. If you stop to think about why that happened and what you could do better the next time the same situation came up, you’ll be prepared.
Mistakes are made to learn from. If you take the time to contemplate and reflect on the good and bad situations that come up every day, you’ll have a storehouse of excellent information to help you improve your life.
Take time to reflect by writing everything down at the end of the day.
Start a Gratitude Journal
Gratitude is one of the desirable traits everyone wants. You may be grateful for several things, but sometimes gratitude needs to be actively practiced in order for it to stick like glue in your life. Starting a gratitude journal is a great way to start practicing gratitude.
It’s easy to start a daily gratitude journal. It’s a great way to keep track of the good things in life and everything you’re thankful for. Start by writing down a few things every evening. Take 5 minutes to do it and you’ll start to feel great.
Gratitude journaling can help lower your stress levels and help you feel calmer. It helps you find out what really matters to you. Then you can put more focus on those things. And when you feel down and blue, you can go back to your journal and read about everything you have been grateful for and start to feel good again.
Be Intentional Everyday
Do you ever wonder if your day was well spent? Are you feeling like you get nothing done that you’d like to do? Maybe every day you’re just going through the motions of life and not really heading anywhere.
You can change that by being intentional every day. Starting this as one of your good habits this year will give you direction and purpose in your life.
Start to think about what you want. Maybe you have certain dreams and goals you’d like to accomplish. Ask yourself what would give you more purpose in your life.
Being intentional doesn’t mean your life will be perfect. But it does mean you’ll have a purpose. You can start to let go of things that don’t serve that purpose and start doing things that will help you with your purpose and reaching certain goals.
