Notes
Flavor:
If you decide to add a bay leaf to your instant pot of eye peas, make sure that you remove it before you serve them.
Ham:
Don't have leftover ham on hand? You can use diced ham from the lunch meat section of your store or a ham steak from the meat department.
Broth:
Out of chicken broth? You can use chicken stock, vegetable broth, or even water to make this recipe.
Water
: If you use water instead of broth, make sure that you add extra salt to give these tender black-eyed peas extra flavor.
Creamy:
Want creamy peas? Use a potato masher to crush some of them up to add a creamy texture.
