This fun Irish Breakfast Shot combines Jameson whiskey, butterscotch schnapps, orange juice, and crispy bacon to create the ultimate breakfast-inspired drink that's ready in just 3 minutes.
Start by preparing your crispy bacon ahead of time, cooking it to your preferred level of crispiness. Cut the bacon into 2-3 inch pieces that will sit nicely on top of your shot glasses without looking oversized or silly. Set up two 2-ounce shot glasses on your serving area. Pour one ounce of orange juice into the first shot glass.
In the second shot glass, combine one ounce of Irish whiskey with half an ounce of butterscotch schnapps. Stir gently to combine the spirits without creating too much foam.
Place the prepared piece of bacon on top of the orange juice shot as your bacon garnish. The bacon should sit securely on the rim without falling into the drink.
Serve immediately while the bacon is still crispy and the drinks are at the proper temperature for the best Irish breakfast shot taste.
Notes
Bacon preparation - Cook your bacon until crispy but not burnt, and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess grease before using as garnish.
Size matters - Cut your bacon pieces to the right size - not so large they look ridiculous, but not so small they fall into the shot.
Serving order - Always explain the correct order to guests: Irish whiskey shot first, orange juice chaser second, then finish with the bite of bacon.
Temperature - Serve shots at room temperature or slightly chilled for the best flavor experience.
