Pineapple Upside Down Cake Shot with Vanilla Vodka
If you're looking for a fun and delicious shot to impress your friends at your next gathering, the Pineapple Upside Down Cake Shot with Vanilla Vodka is a must-try.
Fill a shot glass with vanilla vodka and pineapple juice.
Carefully pour grenadine along the side of the glass using a cocktail spoon.
If you'd like, add a maraschino cherry on top and enjoy!
To make a batch of 6 shots:
Mix vodka and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker and shake to combine.
Divide the mixture evenly into 6 shot glasses.
Using a cocktail spoon, carefully add ⅙ ounce of grenadine to each shot, using a jigger for a clean pour.
If you like, garnish with a maraschino cherry and enjoy!
Notes
Mixing in Advance: If you wish to prepare these shots beforehand, avoid adding the grenadine until just before serving. Adding the grenadine too early will cause the shots to turn red without the distinct layers. Mix the vodka and pineapple juice, and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Add the grenadine to each shot before serving to maintain the beautiful layered effect.
Serving Immediately: These shots taste best when served immediately. I recommend chilling the vodka and pineapple juice beforehand so they're at the perfect temperature when poured. Add a few ice cubes to the cocktail shaker for an extra chilly shot, and strain the mixture as you pour.
Pouring Grenadine: If you don’t have a cocktail spoon, you can still achieve the layered look by tilting each shot glass to the side and slowly pouring the grenadine along the inner edge. Allow 2 minutes for the grenadine to settle at the bottom for the best visual effect.
