Add all ingredients to the bottom of the Instant Pot and stir well.
Secure the Instant Pot lid by twisting it on and closing the valve by pushing it away from you.
Set the Instant Pot to High Pressure for 4 minutes and use the natural release setting.
Once the pressure is fully released, stir the fajitas again. Serve as they are in tortilla wraps or add your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients: Fresh peppers, onions, and high-quality skirt steak will make a noticeable difference in the final flavor of your fajitas.
Don't skip the sautéing: Sautéing the onions and peppers in the Instant Pot before pressure cooking helps to caramelize them, adding a depth of flavor to the dish.
Slice against the grain: When preparing the skirt steak, be sure to slice it against the grain. This will ensure the meat is tender and easy to chew.
Pre-make the seasoning: Having a batch of homemade fajita seasoning on hand can save you time and ensure you always have the perfect flavor blend ready to go.
Deglaze the pot: Before sealing the Instant Pot, deglaze the pot with a bit of beef broth to loosen all the delicious browned bits at the bottom. This will enhance the flavor of your fajitas.
Season to taste: After cooking, taste your fajitas and adjust the seasoning if necessary. A little extra salt, lime juice, or even a dash of hot sauce can perfect the dish.
Serve immediately: Fajitas are best served hot, straight from the Instant Pot, to maintain their vibrant flavors and tender textures. Toppings such as sour cream, jalapenos, and salsa are great choices.
