Shrimp Toast is made on a bed of crunchy whole wheat bread, crisp lettuce, and juicy shrimp, and finished off with a sprinkle of bean sprouts. Such a great breakfast!
In a large bowl mix the shrimp, chili seasoning, rosemary, cayenne, paprika, and garlic powder until well coated.
Heat the coconut oil in a large skillet.
Add the prawns or shrimp and cook on each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
Squeeze the juice of half of the lime over the shrimp. Set aside.
In the same skillet add the carrots, and saute for 6-7 minutes.
Add the sesame seeds and stir.
Remove the carrots from the skillet and set aside.
Toast the bread on both slices in the pan or in a toaster.
Place one slice of fresh green romaine leaves on top of the toast.
Add the carrots, shrimp, and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
Serve and enjoy.
Notes
Use Fresh Ingredients: For the best flavor and texture, use fresh shrimp, vegetables, and bread. The crunch from the fresh bread and vegetables is unbeatable.
Adjust the Spice Levels: If you prefer your shrimp toast to be less spicy, reduce the amount of cayenne pepper or chili seasoning. Alternatively, you can increase them for an extra kick.
Serve Immediately: Shrimp toast tastes best when served immediately; this will keep your toppings crispy.
