Shrimp Toast is made on a bed of crunchy whole wheat bread, crisp lettuce, and juicy shrimp, and finished off with a sprinkle of bean sprouts. Such a great breakfast!

Equipment

Ingredients 

  • 4 Slices Whole Wheat Bread or your favorite bread
  • 12 Ounces (340 ⅕ g) Uncooked Fresh King Prawn or large raw shrimp
  • 2 Large Carrots shredded
  • 4 Romaine Lettuce Leaves
  • ½ Cup (118 2/7 ml) Sprout Mix
  • ½ Cup (50 g) Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • ½ Lime
  • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • ½ Teaspoon Chili Seasoning
  • ½ Teaspoon Fresh Rosemary
  • ½ Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • ½ Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • ½ Teaspoon Black Sesame Seeds or white
  • ½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Clean, peel and devein the shrimp if needed.
    12 Ounces Uncooked Fresh King Prawn
  • In a large bowl mix the shrimp, chili seasoning, rosemary, cayenne, paprika, and garlic powder until well coated.
    ½ Teaspoon Chili Seasoning,½ Teaspoon Fresh Rosemary,½ Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper,½ Teaspoon Smoked Paprika,½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Heat the coconut oil in a large skillet.
    1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • Add the prawns or shrimp and cook on each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Squeeze the juice of half of the lime over the shrimp. Set aside.
    ½ Lime
  • In the same skillet add the carrots, and saute for 6-7 minutes.
    2 Large Carrots
  • Add the sesame seeds and stir.
    ½ Teaspoon Black Sesame Seeds
  • Remove the carrots from the skillet and set aside.
  • Toast the bread on both slices in the pan or in a toaster.
    4 Slices Whole Wheat Bread
  • Place one slice of fresh green romaine leaves on top of the toast.
    4 Romaine Lettuce Leaves,½ Cup Sprout Mix
  • Add the carrots, shrimp, and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
    ½ Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese,Salt and Pepper
  • Serve and enjoy.

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: For the best flavor and texture, use fresh shrimp, vegetables, and bread. The crunch from the fresh bread and vegetables is unbeatable.
