Notes
Pre-cooking Pasta
: Make sure to cook your pasta al dente, as it will continue to cook in the oven, preventing it from becoming mushy.
Meat Choices
: Ground turkey can be a healthier substitute for beef while still retaining the dish's hearty, delicious flavor.
Spice It Up
: For those who enjoy a little kick, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper or a spoonful of chopped jalapeños to the beef mixture.
Vegetable Add-ins
: Sneak in extra nutrients by incorporating finely chopped carrots or zucchini, which blend seamlessly with the other flavors.
Cheese Varieties
: Experiment with different cheeses like sharp cheddar or Monterey Jack to find your perfect cheesy topping.
Biscuit Golden Crust
: For a more golden-brown biscuit topping, brush the biscuits with a beaten egg before baking.
