Instructions
Begin by preparing your workspace. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Next, prepare the spider legs. Cut the Pocky sticks in half, removing the exposed pretzel end if desired.
Carefully separate the Oreo cookies, keeping the cream intact on one half.
Melt the chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Use 30-second intervals on low power, stirring between each, until smooth.
To assemble each spider, place four Pocky stick halves on each side of an Oreo half with cream.
Secure the legs by adding a small amount of melted chocolate to the center of the cookie.
Gently place the top cookie half onto the legs and cream, pressing lightly to adhere.
Using a spoon, spread a thin layer of melted chocolate on top of each spider.
While the chocolate is still wet, place two (or more) candy eyes on the lower half of the spider's "face".
Allow the spiders to set completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by refrigerating for 15-30 minutes.
Once set, your creepy-crawly Oreo spiders are ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
Work quickly when assembling to prevent the melted chocolate from hardening.
For a neater appearance, use a piping bag or squeeze bottle to apply the melted chocolate.
Experiment with different eye placements for varied spider expressions.
If Pocky sticks are hard to find, break spaghetti noodles in half and dip in melted chocolate as an alternative.
Make sure all tools and surfaces are completely dry to prevent the chocolate from seizing.
