Pineapple Aqua Fresca Recipe (Mexican Style Drink)
Agua De Pina is a pineapple aqua fresca recipe is one of my favorites for the summer months. This is made with fresh pineapple, water, and sugar. Give it a try this week for a hydrating drink.
Start by pouring all the filtered water into your blender.
Add the diced juicy pineapple to the blender with the water.
Incorporate the sugar according to your preference for sweetness.
Blend all the ingredients on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and the pineapple has been fully liquified. This usually takes a few minutes.
Once blended, serve the agua fresca over ice in glasses.
Optional: Garnish glasses with pineapple wedges for a decorative and flavorful touch.
Notes
Canned or frozen pineapple (thawed) can work instead of fresh. You can also use the juice for added sweetness.
Fresh pineapple will offer the best flavor.
Make sure you use a high-powered blender, or you will find that it might not blend up as it should.
You can use a little sugar or add the full 1/4 cup. It is up to you how sweet you want your water.
Feel free to swap the granulated sugar with honey, agave, or a sugar substitute.
This pineapple water is best made fresh and served right after mixing up.
Serve plain or add to a glass of ice cubes. I find the ice really helps create more flavor.
