These homemade dog biscuits are made with banana, strawberries, oats and xylitol-free peanut butter, for a sweet and crunchy treat your four-legged BFF will love.
To a large mixing bowl, add the flour, oats, peanut butter, chopped strawberries, egg and mashed banana.
Mix until combined with a Danish dough whisk, mixing spoon or your hands, making make sure you get all the dry flour incorporated.
Chill the Dough
The dough will be sticky. Refrigerate it for 20 to 30 minutes. This is optional but recommended if your kitchen is hot or humid or if your dough is very sticky.
Sprinkle a tablespoon of flour on a baking mat or clean worktop.
Put the dough on top and add a tablespoon of flour on top of that.
Cut Out the Treats
Roll it out ½ inch thick.
Use a cookie cutter to cut the dough into biscuits.
If you find the dough’s sticking to the cookie cutter, dip the cutter in flour and try again.
Repeat until you’ve used all the dough.
Bake the Dog Treats
Bake for 25 to 28 minutes.
Let the puppy treats cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack and cool completely.
You can then treat your pup and store the rest of the treats in an airtight container.
Notes
Flour the cutter: Dip the cookie cutter in flour if the dough sticks.
Cool fully before serving: Let the treats cool completely on a rack before giving one to your dog.
Not a meal replacement: Give these banana dog treats with strawberries as an occasional snack, not a meal replacement.
For smaller dogs: Break larger bone-shaped treats into smaller pieces for small dogs.
