This Turkey club is loaded with bacon, lettuce and tomatoes sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches and then popped on a skewer for the ultimate on-the-go lunch!
Cut 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with star cookie cutters (optional). Leftovers are for the chef! Alternatively, cut a single grilled cheese sandwich into 4 squares.
Slice each piece of bacon into four smaller pieces.
Follow this sequence to assemble the skewers:
Start with a piece of grilled cheese sandwich.
Add a small piece of bacon.
Next, fold a slice of turkey and thread it onto the skewer.
Add a leaf of green lettuce.
Place another small piece of bacon.
Followed by another piece of grilled cheese sandwich.
Top off the skewer with a cherry tomato.
Serve alongside small bowl of ranch dip or dressing, perfect for dipping.
Note: Using cookie cutters may require 2 sandwiches to provide enough shapes for assembly.
Notes
Prep Ahead: To save time during assembly, prepare your grilled cheese sandwiches and bacon in advance. Both can be made the night before and stored in the refrigerator.
Skewer Wisely: If using wooden skewers, consider soaking them in water for 10-20 minutes before assembly to prevent them from burning if you decide to give your kabobs a quick grill or warm-up.
Customize Your Kabobs: Don’t hesitate to switch out ingredients based on personal preference or dietary needs. The beauty of these kabobs is their versatility, so feel free to get creative.
Quality Ingredients: For the best taste and texture, use fresh lettuce and ripe cherry tomatoes. Quality ingredients make a significant difference in these simple recipes.
