Turkey Meatball Ingredients
- Sugar-free tomato sauce – You can also use a marinara sauce as well if you prefer that taste.
- Ground turkey – I use ground turkey breast, but ground turkey meat would be fine, too.
- Eggs – The binding agent that holds the meat mixture together.
- Parmesan cheese – This cheese adds so much flavor to the baked turkey meatballs.
- Oregano – The perfect seasoning.
- Basil leaves – For added flavor.
- Parsley – Fresh parsley or dried will work.
- Garlic – I like fresh garlic but garlic powder is fine.
- Salt
- Red pepper flakes – For a bit of heat. Can be optional as well.
- Black pepper

- Gently roll each portion into a ball and place on prepared baking sheet, leaving room between each meatball. Place baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and transfer meatballs to a prepared baking dish. Drizzle with additional tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
- Place baking dish in the oven for approximately 10 minutes, or until sauce and meatballs are heated throughout, Remove from oven and serve immediately with additional tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese, and fresh basil if desired.
Storage and leftovers
The great thing about making meatball recipes is that there are typically leftovers. Just store them in an airtight container and keep them chilled in the fridge. When you’re ready to enjoy those tender meatballs again, just reheat the cooked meatballs slowly in the oven on a baking tray or in the microwave as well.
If you want to freeze this easy meatball recipe, just add the paleo turkey meatballs to a freezer bag and store in the freezer. They should stay fresh for up to 2 months.
Substitutions
Even though these simple turkey meatballs are good as is, you can change up a few ingredients. Instead of using ground turkey meat, you can use ground beef. (This will make the fat content higher)
You can also add some ground up pork rinds into the mixture as well if you’re wanting a bread crumb texture, without the carbs.
The first time you make these juicy little protein bombs, you’re gonna be hooked!
FAQs
Nope, not at all. Just mix the ingredients of this recipe today, pack the mixture into your cookie scoop, or roll in your hands, and that’s all you have to do. There is no need for added bread.
This is where the parmesan cheese and herb mixture comes into play. It is what is used in place of the bread crumbs and works well!
If the meatballs are tough, you may have packed them too tightly. Just pack them enough so that they’ll stay together.
