This Pina colada jello shots recipe is one of the best! Out of all my jello shot recipes, I love that this one really does taste like pina coladas! Just fill the jello shot cups and cheer the day away!

Ingredients for Jello Shot Pina Coladas

Orange Jello Mixture Layer 

  • Orange jello – The whole family will love the orange layer and look.
  • Boiling water – Hot water is a must.
  • Cold Water – A cold cup of water is needed to mix with the gelatin.
  • Malibu Orange Float – Some might say that this is the best part of the shot.

Pina Colada Layer 

  • Boiling water – Hot water is a must.
  • White Rum  – You could also use 1/4 cup coconut rum.
  • Cold water – Needed to dissolve the gelatin.
  • Sweetened condensed milk  – This adds a white layer.
  • Unflavored gelatin – You’ll find this at the supermarket in the jello aisle.

Pineapple Layer 

  • Pineapple jello – Adding a pineapple jello packet is a must.
  • Boiling water – More hot water!
  • Cold water – More cold water!
  • Malibu Pineapple Rum – Delicious recipes with different flavors of rum are the best!

How To Make Pina Colada Mini Shot Cups

  1. Step One: Bring 1 cup of water to boil in a pot on the stove.
  2. Step Two: Mix the boiling hot water with 3 ounces of orange jello. Whisk until the gelatin and the powder is dissolved.
  3. Step Three: Whisk in the cold water and the Malibu Orange Float.
  4. Step Four: Fill each shot glass 1/3 full and put it in the fridge for 45 minutes.
  5. Step Five: Grab another medium bowl and add 1/4 cup of cold water and one unflavored gelatin package. Let it set for 5 minutes. Whisk in 1/2 cup of the boiling water and whisk.
  6. Step Six: Whisk in 1/4 cup of rum and the sweetened condensed milk. Fill another 1/3 of the jello shot, making the middle layer. Put in the fridge for 1 hour.
  7. Step Seven: Repeat the steps using the orange jello. This will make the top layer for the shot glass. Once it has been done, add a pineapple ring or pineapple chunk to the top and let set in the fridge overnight. Add a maraschino cherry as well!

How to Store

Once the jello shots are made, store them in the fridge until using them. They will stay for a few days without issue. (and the flavor of alcohol might get stronger, too!)

Variations

  • You can change the type of alcohol and flavor
  • You can cut out one of the layers if you don’t want to have that many
  • Use different flavors of jello like strawberry jello for a simple twist

These Pina Colada Jello Shots are a fun and simple way to make a layered shot recipe that everyone will love.

Ingredients 

Orange Layer

  • 1 box orange jello 3 ounces
  • 1 cup (236 ⅗ g) boiling water
  • ½ cup (118 2/7 g) cold water
  • ½ cup (90 g) Malibu Orange Float

Pina Colada Layer

  • ½ cup (118 2/7 g) boiling water
  • ¼ cup (60 g) white rum
  • ¼ cup (59 ⅐ g) cold water divided
  • 7 ounces (198 ½ g) sweetened condensed milk
  • package unflavored gelatin .25 ounces

Pineapple Layer

  • 1 box pineapple jello 3 ounces
  • 1 cup (236 ⅗ g) boiling water
  • ½ cup (118 2/7 g) cold water
  • ½ cup (120 g) Malibu Pineapple Rum

Instructions

  • Bring 1 cup of water to boil in a pot on the stove.
  • Mix the boiling hot water with 3 ounces of orange jello. Whisk until the gelatin, and the powder is dissolved.
  • Whisk in the cold water and the Malibu Orange Float.
  • Fill each shot glass 1/3 full and put in the fridge for 45 minutes.
