Ingredients Needed

  • Orange jello – You can also use other types of citrus jello as well.
  • Boiling water – This needs to be hot to dissolve the jello.
  • Rum – Make sure that the rum is chilled.
  • Gelatin packs – Grab a few and have some extra, just in case you want to make more!
  • Water – Tap or filtered water is fine.
  • Sweetened condensed milk – Helps to add sweetness.
  • Cointreau – Needs to be chilled.
  • Alize mango liquor – Adds mango flavoring.
  • Mango cocktail syrup – The syrup needs to be chilled as well.

How To Make Orange Jello Shots with Malibu Rum

Step One: To make the orange jello layer:

  • In a medium saucepan, boil 1 cup of water. 
  • Add the orange jello mix and mix to combine. 
  • Allow sitting for 5 minutes. 
  • Add the liquor and stir to combine.

Step Two: Pour the orange jello mix into the condiment cups ½ way full. 

  • Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. 
  • Remove from the refrigerator and add the maraschino cherries 1 to each condiment cup. Place back in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Step Three: To make the mango jello layer:

  • In a medium bowl, add the gelatin packs and ½ cup of water. 
  • Mix to combine. 
  • Allow sitting for 5 minutes. 
  • Add the liquors, sweetened condensed milk, and mango syrup. 
  • Stir to combine. 
  • Set to the side to reach room temperature.

Step Four: Pour the mango on top of the orange layer.

Step Five: Fill to the top. 

Step Six: Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

How to Store

Once you add the jello mixture to the plastic cups, just store them in the fridge until you’re ready to serve. They are best when enjoyed within 1-2 days.

Tips and tricks

  • You can always use Malibu coconut rum to add some more tropical flavors!
  • I like to put a little bit of whipped cream on the top of mine before enjoying it.

Tropical Jello Shots

These Tropical Jello Shots are the perfect way to have a fun jello shot for the adults to drink! Great for a pool party, birthday parties, and more!

Ingredients 

Orange Jello Layer

  • 3 ounces (85 g) orange jello
  • 1 cup (236 ⅗ g) water boiling
  • 1 cup (240 g) rum chilled

To make the mango layer

  • ounces (99 ¼ g) gelatin packs
  • ½ cup (118 2/7 g) water
  • 14 ounces (397 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup (118 2/7 g) Cointreau chilled
  • ½ cup (82 ½ g) Alize mango liquor
  • ½ cup (82 ½ g) Mango cocktail syrup chilled

Instructions

To make the orange layer:

  • In a medium saucepan boil 1 cup of water. 
    Add the orange jello mix and mix to combine. 
    Allow to sit for 5 minutes. 
  • Add the liquor and stir to combine. 
    Pour the orange jello mix into the condiment cups ½ way full. 
    Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
