Ingredients Needed to make Homemade Cinnamon Twists

  • Puff pastry – Homemade or storebought will work. Some people even use crescent roll dough.
  • Sugar – Adds that sweet pop of flavor.
  • Cinnamon – Pair with the sugar to make the flavor.

How to Make Cinnamon Twists

Step One: Preheat your oven to 375F.

Step Two: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step Three: Roll out your puff pastry until it is flat.

Step Four: Next, sprinkle the puff pastry with sugar and cinnamon.

Step Five: Use a pizza cutter to slice the puff pastry into strips.

Step Six: Grasp both ends of a strip and twist the pastry dough. After twisting then, place it on your baking sheet.

Step Seven: Repeat with all strips.

Step Eight: Lastly, bake the cinnamon twists for 10-12 minutes or until golden.

How to Store

Store cinnamon pastry twists in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature. You can also store these twists in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 1 month.

Yes, you can freeze these cinnamon twists for up to one month in a freezer-safe bag.

You can. If you’re making the dough homemade, you can just add it to a large mixing bowl and then store it in the fridge. I always put a little bit of plastic wrap over the top of my large bowl so that it keeps it airtight.

  • 1 Package puff pastry 2 sheets
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375F
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Roll out your puff pastry and use a pizza cutter to cut into 1″ wide strips.
  • Sprinkle generously with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Grasp both ends of a strip and twist the pastry dough – place on your baking sheet.
  • Repeat with all strips.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes until golden.
