What is Chik-Fil-A coleslaw?

Chik-Fila-A’s discontinued coleslaw was a beloved side dish. With its crisp cabbage, carrots, and tangy dressing, it was the perfect complement to their iconic chicken sandwiches.

But now, there’s hope! I’ve brought you this Chick-Fil-A copycat recipe so we can still recreate that nostalgic flavor right in our own kitchens.

Why you should make this Chick-Fil-A coleslaw recipe

  • Tastes just like Chick-Fil-A coleslaw – It has the perfect combination of flavors. Not too spicy, not too sweet.
  • Ready in minutes – This recipe will be ready long before your main dish is done cooking.
  • Good for any occasion – This is the perfect side dish to bring to a potluck or BBQ or as a side dish for a regular meal.

Ingredients for Chick-Fil-A coleslaw recipe

Ingredients of Chick-Fil-A Coleslaw in an individual glass bowls sitting on a white countertop.
  • Mayonnaise– This is key- Do not try to substitute Miracle Whip for this recipe!
  • White Sugar
  • Apple Cider Vinegar– Apple cider vinegar has a slightly sweet taste that makes it better for this recipe than white vinegar
  • English-style Mustard– You can also substitute Dijon if you don’t have English-style mustard on hand
  • Salt
  • Coleslaw Mix– Or shred your own mixture of cabbage and carrots!

Substitutions and Variations

  • Add a small amount of sour cream for an extra tangy coleslaw.
  • Add some spice to it by using spicy brown mustard instead of English-style mustard.
  • You can also make it spicy by adding 1 teaspoon of sriracha sauce to the coleslaw dressing.
  • Add dill pickles, celery, and crushed potato chips to the coleslaw for a more Tex-Mex twist.
