Make Sure Your Ingredients Are Fresh

When it comes to your garlic and lemon juice, the fresher the better! Crush your own garlic to make sure it’s as fresh as possible. Don’t worry about the bite, we’re going to take care of that (and everyone likes garlicky hummus!).

Pick out some ripe lemons and go ahead and squeeze them yourself too.

Soak the crushed garlic in freshly squeezed lemon juice to take away some of the garlic’s edge. This blend makes for a delicious finished result.

Pick the Right Tahini

Good tahini is good, and it’s also one of the key ingredients in any tasty hummus recipe.

One sign of high-quality tahini is that it tastes good on its own, not just mixed in. Shop around to find tahini that has the right taste for you.

Spice It Up

Real talk, this recipe makes delicious garlic organic hummus even if you don’t add the spice.

But why wouldn’t you want to give it that little extra kick?

This recipe gets its spice factor by adding a little bit of cayenne pepper. But don’t be afraid to experiment with your favorite spices! You can sub in a cajun spice or chili powder, depending on your preferences.

Just remember to start by adding just a little bit.

Give it a taste test—you can always add more spice. On the other hand, it’s much more challenging to tone it down if you make it too spicy!

Smooth It out

An ideal spicy organic hummus shines in both taste and texture when it is totally smooth. This allows the flavors to mix perfectly.

You can create really smooth hummus by letting your food processor run for full several minutes.

Or, if you want things smoother, you can try giving the hummus a good whirl in the blender before serving.

How to Serve This Spicy Organic Hummus

Hummus is a versatile addition to your table!

You can enjoy it as a dip with a little bit of paprika, olive oil, and chopped parsley. Keep some pita and veggies handy for dipping and you’re ready to go!

You can also use it as a healthy alternative to mayonnaise on your next sandwich. You can even use it as a mayo sub in deviled eggs.

Blend it together with some olive oil, lemon juice, and paprika to make a healthy (and tasty!) salad dressing. Hummus is super versatile, and this recipe packs in a ton of flavor.

Storing and Freezing This Hummus

One of the great things about hummus is the fact that it is freezer-friendly. You can make up a big batch and split it into several containers.

Make sure to leave a little extra room, as hummus tends to expand as it freezes. When you’re ready to enjoy, just move it to the fridge to thaw.

If you’re big on instant gratification, you can always go to town on your spicy organic hummus right away! As long as you cover it and keep it in the fridge, it will last for up to three days.

You can always buy premade hummus at the store, but isn’t this more impressive? You’ll really taste the love in this spicy organic hummus recipe!

Plus, when you make it yourself, you can control the level of spice. Give it a go and impress your family and friends. You’re a person who makes hummus now. Enjoy it!
