Tips from our Recipe Developer

  • Make sure to use quality salt, as it is going to be the stand-out flavor. I prefer a kosher salt or even a nice sea salt.
  • Make sure to measure all ingredients properly. If you taste the mix and want to alter the flavor go right ahead.
  • Place in a sealed container and then store in a cool, dry place. Before each use, give a shake to the bottle or stir to ensure all the ingredients are well mixed.
  • Spice it up with more cayenne to add a bit more heat to the seasoning salt recipe.
  • Consider smoked paprika to bring more of a smokey flavor to the spice mixture.
  • If you struggle to find sugar that is super fine, you can place granulated sugar in a food processor and pulse a short bit. Or you can use a coffee grinder to break down the sugar.
  • Do not use powdered sugar in replace of fine sugar. It will alter the flavor too much.

Storing Tips

Room Temperature

Make sure to store your Lawry’s seasoning salt in a sealed container in a dry place. A spice cabinet works great. You can buy empty spice containers or even use a mason jar. The spice mixture can store for 3 months.

Then before each use just give the mixture a stir or shake to incorporate all the spices. Then season as light or heavy as you wish.
