Homemade Spaghetti Seasoning Spice Blend

This quick and easy spaghetti seasoning is a homemade spice blend to complement your spaghetti. Add it to your spaghetti as it cooks on the stovetop and create an extra flavorful to take your pasta dish to a whole new level. This spaghetti spice blend only takes minutes to make.

This recipe is similar to an Italian seasoning but with even more flavor. Add it in while you are finishing up your meat, or stir it in with your spaghetti sauce. Either way, you will love the simple spices that enhance your dish in a big way.

What is Spaghetti Seasoning

Spaghetti seasoning is a mix of spices and herbs that will compliment a spaghetti dish or pasta dish. It is made with a handful of ingredients. Parsley, Italian seasoning, basil, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt and pepper.

Now depending on the recipe, you will find that some ingredients vary. It is a great blend of flavors to help enhance your spaghetti sauce.

This Spaghetti Spice Blend Is..

  • Made with pantry staple herbs and spices, you might already have on hand.
  • Can be used for spaghetti, lasagna, and other delicious pasta based recipes. You might even enjoy seasoning chicken to sear in a skillet.
  • Adjust the spices to fit your preference in terms of flavor you would like.
  • Stores well in the spice cupboard, so you can use whenever you need to season up your dinners.

  1. In a bowl, you will add all your spices into the container. (Photo 1)
  2. Mix well and then place in a sealed container. Use right away or store in the spice cabinet until ready to use. (Photos 2 & 3)

Top Tips

  • Sweeten the mixture with 1/2 teaspoon to 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar.
  • Ramp up spice with 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes.
  • Double or triple the recipe if you would like to have extra on hand.
  • I always recommend mixing up the spice blend before using to ensure it is incorporated evenly.
  • You can leave out or add extra of any ingredients to alter the flavor of the spice blend if you want.

This spice blend can store for 5-6 months in the pantry or spice cabinet. The biggest thing is using fresh spices to ensure to creates a fresh spice mixture that will store well.

Ways to Use Spaghetti Seasoning

Not sure how to use this seasoning? You can add 1 tablespoon or more depending on your flavor preference to pasta sauce, and more. You could even use this spice blend with my baked ziti, seasoning the sauce in lasagna and more. Now you could even season chicken and then pan sear and top buttered noodles.

You can expect the seasoning blend to last around 6 months. Now if you are using all fresh spices, then it could last up to a year when stored in a sealed container.

How do I use spaghetti seasoning blend?

Stir the seasoning mixture in with your cooked meat or toss in some blended spices to the pasta sauce. Now, you can use a little or a lot of the seasoning to flavor to your preference. You can use 1 tablespoon of the blend to 2-3 tablespoons. It is your own personal preference.

Try my Spaghetti Seasoning to enhance the flavoring of your next pasta dish. Add a tablespoon of this mix or more to create more dimension and flavor to your pasta recipes. Or top your chicken with this seasoning to create an Italian flavor.

  • Add all the spices in a bowl and mix well.
  • Pour into a sealed container and store in the pantry for up to 6 months.
  • To use you can add 1 tablespoons to 2-3 tablespoons to your spaghetti sauce to enhance the flavor of your pasta recipe. Use a little or a lot to flavor to reach your flavor preference.

Notes

  • Spice Mixture – You can use as much or as little as you would like for flavoring your pasta sauce. 
  • Pasta – Now you can use this for lasagna, spaghetti, use for making chicken flavorful, and more. You can use this spice blend any way you want. 
  • Storage – Store in a sealed container in the spice cabinet or pantry. This will help ensure the spice mixture stays fresh. 
  • Ingredients – Feel free to add less or more of ingredients to change up the flavor. Add red pepper flakes to spice it up. Or granulated sugar to sweeten the mixture up. 1/4 teaspoon up to 1 teaspoon of either ingredients works well.
