The best ice cream that goes best with a peach cobbler is vanilla ice cream. Some like to serve the cobbler hot with vanilla ice cream on the side or on top. The contrast between the cold and hot is to die for!

Can I use fresh peaches?

Delicious! My Partner bought three 29 oz cans of peaches and had been hounding me to make peach cobbler. I searched the web and found your excellent recipe. I was a bit concerned that the amount of nutmeg might be on the high side, but it was spot on. I drained the peaches and drizzled a bit of the juice over the cobbler. The topping was nicely carmelized and my Partner was quite happy….

  3. Love it. Haven’t tried yet, but I’ll let you know. Looks Beautiful and smell good. My time was 40 mins. I like a good crust.

I used fresh peaches and cut sugar down to 1/4 c!! Added fresh blueberries too.
Absolutely delish!!! Heaven in a dish!!

  5. I have a recipe for fresh peaches but after reading yours with can I’m gonna give it a try. I’m making my Chili Chicken Stew recipe with a few of my own tweaks topped off with finely shredded cheese and sour cream. Two iron skillets of cornbread and top it off with sweet tea and most definitely vanilla ice cream. Can’t wait till Saturday ????????????

    1. What if you have canned peaches with no added sugar do you still add the same amount of sugar this recipe calls for?

      1. 5 stars
I had it in, yes, regardless of what type of peaches I use! it’s a personal preference, if you don’t want the added sugar, then by all means, don’t add it
