Tips from our Recipe Developer

  • Creaming the butter and sugar for 2 minutes is going to help allow the butter and sugar to become ultra-creamy. This is going to help the texture of the cookies.
  • Slowly mix in the flour mixture a little at a time. Once the cookie dough is well mixed then fold in the chocolate chips.
  • In terms of chocolate any flavor of chocolate chips work. From dark to milk chocolate or even white chocolate if you want.
  • You can make a homemade frosting instead of buying a jar if you want. Any flavor of frosting will work great.
  • Make sure to grease the cookie sheet well. This will prevent the cookies from sticking to the pan.
  • Allow the cookies to fully cool before you go and frost the cookies.
  • You can change up the Chip Ahoy cookies to your favorite crumbled cookie. Try an Oreo cookie crumble.

Storing Tips

You can store your cookies at room temperature in an airtight container. Frosted chocolate chip cookies will last for about 3-4 days. As each day passes the cookies will begin to try out.

If you want go right ahead and freeze any cookies you don’t plan to eat. Just place it in a freezer bag or freezer container. Freeze for up to 5-6 months. Then thaw on the counter and enjoy.

What to serve with frosted chocolate chip cookies
