How To Make Homemade Popsicles

Pick a healthy popsicle recipe listed below and get started! Some use fresh strawberries, some use different kinds of fruit, and others may even be made with frozen yogurt!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of fresh fruit (berries or peaches work great)
  • 2 cups of yogurt (Plain or Vanilla)
  • 2-4 tablespoons of honey (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Puree your chosen fruit in a blender until smooth.
  2. Add the yogurt to your fruit puree. If you want a sweeter popsicle, add honey to your mixture. Blend all the ingredients together until they are well combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into your popsicle mold. Insert a popsicle stick into each one.
  4. For the best results, freeze the popsicles for at least 4-6 hours or until they are fully set.
  5. To remove the popsicles from the mold, run warm water on the outside of the mold for a few seconds, then gently pull on the stick. Enjoy your homemade popsicle!

Remember, this is a basic recipe. Feel free to experiment with different combinations of fruits and yogurt flavors to create your unique popsicle variations!

Homemade Fruit Popsicles FAQs

What is the most popular ingredient to add to popsicles?

Fruit is most likely the most popular addition to homemade popsicles. This is because fruit is versatile in flavor and sweetness and can be added as fresh fruit
or frozen. Just by changing up the type of fruit, you can easily change up the type of popsicles as well. Pick your favorite fruit
 and try other ways!

Can you use an ice cube tray to make popsicles?

You can! Just get smaller popsicle sticks and use those in the ice cube tray. If you’re making fruity popsicles, you can also just make fruit ice cubes as well and then pop those into juice or water for a fun twist!

Do popsicles last a long time in the freezer?

Just like anything added to the freezer, they do have a lifespan to them, but it’s a generous one. You can easily make popsicles and have them in your freezer for a week or so without issues. Just make sure to keep them frozen and covered so that they don’t get freezer-burnt in the process.

Why are my homemade popsicles so hard?

It quickly hardens once you pour the mixture into ice cube trays or popsicle molds. The goal is for it to freeze and adhere to the wooden sticks. If they are difficult to remove, run them under hot water to melt the popsicle mixture and quickly release these frozen treats. It’s the best way to retrieve delicious popsicle recipes when they’re frozen solid.

As you can see, this list gives you a simple solution to make a different healthy homemade popsicle recipe every single day! The best part is that you can use ripe fruit or frozen fruit- both! With so many different flavors, you’ll have no issue making the perfect ice pop over and over again.
